To stay next to the Acropolis with a view of Lycabettus Hill is amazing. Positive: The location and view were unsurpassable in Athens. Quite a clamber with our bags but it was so worth every step. The terrace was incredible to sit out upon morning or night. There was a wonderful book on the shelves called ‘111 Places in Athens That You Shouldn’t Miss.’ What a gem. We chose some great places from it. Go and find the tango dancing on a Monday night. Just beautiful. The room had the benefit of being a stone’s throw from many local restaurants but was extremely quiet once you are inside. Very communicative and helpful hosts we were very grateful to. Negative: As mentioned on other reviews the bathroom needs an overhaul, and the shower at least really needs a bracket to hang it on. The plumbing could do with a clear through as the kitchen sink smelt terrible every time the bathroom sink was used. Some dubious electrics too need a bit of work, with a couple of sockets hanging off the wall. The directions to the property, as mentioned by another review, could do with a little tweak. We too went to the wrong side of the property, which isn’t ideal after a long journey. Maybe just some photos to guide folk in as we arrived via the steps from Monisteraki. The hosts were brilliant responding to us immediately when we queried it.

Great location, but house needs to be upgraded to demand rental price. Positive: - Location is great, at the base of the Acropolis in Plaka. Loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Walking distance to many sites. - Balcony with beautiful view of Athens. Neighbouring homes not so nice looking. - Fair-sized house with make-shift kitchenette and private WC. Negative: - Check-in was horrible. App kept looping and we were not able to obtain entry info. After about 2 hours, host company sent us a link, which resolved the issue. This should have been sent us at the outset. - A/C barely cooled the room. First night was very hot. - This is an old house and has not been properly sealed or sanitized. We had visitors (cockroaches) every night. I had to use my sandal to bring them under control. (Not for the squeamish)

Great location in Plaka Positive: We loved the location, so easy to walk to all the major sites we wanted to see. The balcony was lovely. There wasn't a table to sit at, but the outside table worked. Negative: The bathroom is getting a little old, and there was only a handheld shower. The place felt really secure with the coded entry and alarm system. It just makes it a little stressful in case you get it wrong. Google took us to a second entry at the same address, basically in the street behind, and both have green doors!!
