Good location, but lots of concerns Positive: The location is the best part about this place. It’s right near the hub of all the places to explore without being in the touristy area. And it’s quiet. The think we liked the most about the area is that is right next to really good food and coffee that locals go to. The place was fairly clean and there was enough room for 3 of us to stay. And it was quiet for the most part. And lastly, the staff were responsive and very helpful Negative: There were several things that didn’t make this place right for us and maybe not right for your: 1. The shower is really small and very difficult to get into. My wife is short and needed help getting in/out because the lip is so high. And the are to stand in is really really small. We are in our early 30s, so this isn’t like we are limited physically in any ways that would impact this aspect. If there are any concerned with getting into the shower, this is not the place for you. 2. The hot water is really bad. You have to turn on the boiler 30 minutes before your shower and then turn it off before you get in. That’s not all that bad, but what is bad is that the water comes out either boiling hot (I lightly burned the bottoms of my feel the first time) or frigid cold. And even when the water cools to a good temperature, you only have about 3 minutes of warm water before it runs out, so it’s not good if your a women and need to do a full shower and wash your hair 3. The walls are thin. So we could hear people on other units talking and walking around through the night 4. I don’t think our sheets on the bed were fully cleaned because there was a blood stain near the foot area of one of the beds.

The perfect holiday apartment near the Acropolis Museum Positive: This is just the perfect holiday apartment. It’s on the 1st floor (or raised ground floor) of a modern block of flats, in a quiet street just minutes away from Plaka and the Acropolis Museum, but without the noise and crowds of tourists. The apartment is very professionally run, the host stays in touch and responds fast, check-in and check-out (lockbox) couldn’t be easier, water heater works by just flipping a switch in the fuse cupboard (one 20-minute charge left me with plenty of very hot water for more than 2 days!), the hand-held shower over a bathtub with shower curtain has good water pressure and is quite spacious, everything in the flat works as it should. Lovely to find a generous supply of ground coffee for the filter machine (juhu, not these Nespresso pods!), an ironing board and, as I spotted just before I checked out, even a hoover. There are several lovely little bars and outside eateries just 2 minutes from the apartment, ditto several supermarkets that stay open very late. Just one thing: as is quite normal with apartments in southern Europe: the flat is not very bright, in spite of the large French windows. That means the place stays nice and cool. The bedroom has a small balcony with a table and two chairs that looks on to a pleasant internal courtyard full of greenery. No noise from neighbours. I’m already looking forward to my next stay at this apartment. Negative: There was nothing not to like.
